Country House Fall Knock-Off

I received the new Fall Issue from The Country House
and was flipping through it when

these apples and pears caught my eye.

I liked the stars on them and they definately say Fall is here,
but $15.99 for 4 put the brakes on!

The I started thinking.
How can I make these?
I new I had Dollar Store faux apples and pears in my Treasure Pile,
hmmm

I dragged out some supplies that I thought would do the trick.

The faux fruit
my spice mix
paint
craft knife
and of course..
Mod Podge had to be included!

I knew I would need a star stencil
so I cut one out of their catalog (just happened to be the right size ;))
traced it onto a piece of paper and cut it out.

I coated the fruit in Mod Podge and the dredged them in the spice  mix.

When dry I coated them in Mod Podge again.

Let them dry thoroughly for a few hours then
just held on the stencil and
added the star with copper craft paint

I think they turned out pretty darn cute.
No they aren't the same color and
the star is painted on, not attached,
but I did say my version in the title! LOL

They were so easy and fun to make,
I even made some for my shop!

Apples, Apples and more Apples!

We've been blessed with cooler temps this weekend
which starts my mind wandering into Fall.
I know this beautiful weather will most likely give way to more warm
or should I say downright hot days,
but couldn't help myself not to create some Fall Decor!

Apples come to mind for me when I think of fall.
Rememebering our long drives up to Apple Hill to get the wonderful fruit, cider, pastries and of course that famous Apple Hill Pie!

So with Apples on the mind I started.
These are what I came up with :)

Cinnamon Apples

Caramel Apples

Prim Star Apples

OK, OK, I know,
some pears jumped into the last one here,
but hey, Pears are Fall Fruit too!

Now you know I always make some for me and some for you....
So these can be found in my Etsy Shop and/or eBay Store,
Links are at the top of my blog ☺☺

Fertilizer Friday!

Be sure to hop over to see everyone's flowers at Tootsie Time!

we've had a week of 105 - 108 temperatures,
that doesn't bode to well for plants,
especially since we've been cool for weeks prior.

We're ALL pretty wilted!

So just a few pics of the happy ones and their garden buddies.

Happy Gardening!

Great finds!

It's time for Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays over at Coastal Charm!

Once again, no time on Saturday to hit the tag sales,
but I managed to make it to some Thrift's
while I had to be in the big town of Modesto!
(yes, it may not be a big town,
but compared to Newman where I live it is!)

While the GW's proved to be uneventful,
the 2 Hope Chests I stopped at were
Da Bomb!

I fell immediately for this Freesia in the basket...gorgeous!
I also snagged some damask napkins,
a sweet white wicker basket with little pink roses all along the top,
3 single salt shakers (these will become tassels),
a petite bun basket, mini egg crate,
I love the turquoise inside this tea cup,
and those turkeys jumped up into my arms
and gobbled "take us, take us!"

I'm thinking all these sweet little Mary Englebreit Tea Pots will make cutie Tassels, the Rooster too!
This oval frame caught my eye.
Not sure what it is about frames....I have tons and don't need any more!!
But just can't seem to resist pretty ones.
See the shiny rhinestones around it?

And last but not least, I scored these babies.
A sweet chicken wire Teapot (are you seeing a theme here?)
It will end up in one of my shops.
Not sure what to do with the black stand,
it'll go in my Treasure Pile for a future use.
I loved this faux Bay Leaf Topiary.
It's already found a new home in my Gazebo.

Remember this Candle Holder from a few weeks ago?

Shellbelle has a great suggestion.
She said to try to find a ceiling fan light shade to fit the
clips. I picked up this one at Hope Chest also...
.10!
And it fits great!

Thanks Shellbelle!!

More Wedding Plans

Things are coming along with The Wedding Plans.

This is the prototype for the Centerpiece for the tables.

Sand topped with shells and sea glass on the bottom.
Some greens and a white orchid come up and out the top of the vase.
These will be placed on top of a shell inspired disc that will have sand and shells surrounding it.

This will become the Wedding Card Box.

I wanted to show this wonderful memory box Tanya made.

Remember how I told you the way Brandon proposed,
well, she took all the items used for the proposal and made this Memory Box.

The red ribbon, the cards with stances on them,
the rubber duckie, and ring (not "The Ring",but a stand in),

Sweeeet!!

Fertilizer Friday ~ The Whites

I'm joining Tootsie over at Tootsie Time for Fertilizer Friday!

While wandering the garden looking for some inspiration for today,
I discovered the 'whites' had taken center stage.

Garlic Chives ready to burst into flower

Love their little clusters of star shapes.

Then there were the Feverfew in full bloom.

Such happy daisy like flower bunches.

The UFO (Unidentified Flower Object) from last weeks post.

Not quite fully open yet.

This little yellow Baby Rose jumped up and said
"me, me!"

Not much happening in the garden these days.
We're between the first and second big push,
at the 'rest stop' before the second wave hits.
Hoping for more to show next week.
☺☺

Etsy Treasury

This has been so fun!
I've been included in 2 different Etsy Treasuries in the last two days!
It's so exciting for someone to chose one of your items from ALL of the wonderful things on Etsy.

Yesterday my Rose Heart was chosen by
Purple Platypus for the Wedding Bells Are Ringing Treasury she made.
Thank you Chantal!

Today my Caramel Apples were chosen by Ageless Things
for the Autumn Country Style Treasury she put together.
Thank you Edyie!

We Have A Dress!!

Melissa and I were invited to go along with Tanya,
her Mom and some of the Bridesmaids to look for her Wedding Dress.
They had been to several places earlier in the week.
BUT I was lucky enough to be there when she found the ONE!

It is beautiful and she looks amazing in it!
Sorry no photos :(
Just in case my Son pops in,
can't let him see, you know!

We also looked at Bridesmaid Dresses.
One favorite was tried on.

Tanya and Tab

Stephanie

Melissa and Linda (Tanya's Mom)

The Shawl was fiddled with to create a cute
design.

We may have not found the Bridesmaids Dresses,

BUT we have the COLORS!!

Pool and Pichachio ☺

Pretty!

One small step for the family,
one huge step for the Bride!
LOL

Love ya Tanya!

I'm joining Linda over at Coastal Charm for Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays!
Pop over and see what everyone's found.

I didn't get a chance to hit any yard sales over the weekend but did get a chance to stop in our local Consignment Shop.

I found this little lady for $2.50.

Isn't she adorable?!
I can't wait to put some little posies in it.

She even has little openings on the sides.

I initially got her to put in my Etsy Shop.
But I have fallen for her so she will be staying here.
☺☺☺☺
