Mosaic Monday ~ Paper Dolls

I'm selling a large box of vintage Paper Dolls on eBay for a friend.
Over the last few weeks I've learned more than I've ever wanted to know about Paper Dolls.
I love to research just as much as the next person.... :p
but who knew there were SO MANY that were made!

Anywho~~

It's Mosaic Monday once again over at Little Red House
so I decided to put the sweetest, most precious babies of the bunch...IMHO ;~)
in my mosaic for today.
The expressions on these three are so adorable
and their clothes are FLOCKED!!
Just too cute for words ~

Don't you agree?

A Heartfelt Thank you and Next Stop

I want to Thank each and everyone of you for your outpouring of such heart felt condolences concerning my Dad's recent passing.
You don't know how much it has meant to me.
I could actually feel all the warm hugs from out there in blogland.
All your comments have and are helping me get through this.
I know it will take time, but I'm slowly getting back in the swing of things.

Ok on to the next stop!
My friend Dawn loves Lighthouses and
has always wanted to see one up close and personal.
This is another stop we finally made it too this visit.

Point Pinos Lighthouse just outside of Monterey, CA in Pacific Grove is the oldest continuosly operating Lighthouse on the west coast.
It has been in operation since February 1, 1855.
And we got to see it!

The first views are breath taking....

As is the surrounding area...

Once inside, your taken back to a simpler time.
Everything is as it was back then.

The old stove...

Sitting Room on the main level...

And necesseties....

downstairs you find relics of the past....

yup, had to get pics of Coastie stuff ;~)

'The most famous lightkeeper was Mrs. Emily Fish,
who served from 1893 to 1914.
She was called the "Socialite Keeper"
due to her love of entertaining guests at the lighthouse.'

Upstairs from the main floor you find her bedroom...

The window sitting area/room
where she would keep watch and log her findings...

What a view!

The Duty man's room...
yes, more Coastie Stuff ;~)

There is so much history here it is awe inspiring.
A definate stop if you're ever in the area.

Gorgeous!

Quaint back porch...

If there is a tree to climb, Melissa will find it!

Great area for wildlife too..

Bye Dad, Be at Peace....

As my oldest Son posted.....

'The world suffers a great loss today as one of it's most special people
passes on.... Goodbye Papa, I will see you when I get there...'

My Dad passed earlier today.
He's at peace now with God.
I love and miss you,
give Mom a hug and kiss for me...

XOXOXOXOXOXO

Butterflies are Free......

I'm linking to Tootsie Time for Fertilizer Friday, Thanks Tootsie!

We finally made it to one special spot in Pacific Grove, CA.
Every time my friend visits, we would try to get there
but we would run out of time or something always same up.
Why you say would we want to go to this little town near Monterey?

Well, because it is know as
Butterfly Town USA!
And my friend LOVES Butterflies. Me too!

This seaside community is an overwintering haven
for thousands of Monarch Butterflies.
Each year in November, they return from the north
to the special protective microclimate
of the Eucalyptus Trees and Monterey Pines
at The Monarch Grove Santuary.

The Monarchs hang in large clumps from the branches of the trees.

On mild days when the sun shines through the trees, the Butterflies
warm up enough to flutter and flit about performing entertaining
aerial acrobatics.

They stay until February, the largest clusters are seen mid-December.
We visited at the end of their overwintering season
but were lucky enough to see some.

The Monarchs aren't the only thing that are gorgeous,
the grounds are too.

There are several places to stop and sit.

Benches with remembrances....

sweet and...

funny sayings.

But this one was the best!

We were also lucky enough to see some of the other
residents of the Sanctuary.....

So cute!

I hope you're not getting bored...
we have a couple more stops before we're done!
