Watch the Decorah Eagles’ nest camera from the Raptor Resource Project

OK OK
Spring makes me think of birds even more than normal.

Here is another live cam, this time it's the Decorah Eagle .

How cool is this!?
2 of the babies have hatched.
Earlier I got to watch the mother feed them.
Their nest is right over a fish hatchery..that's one smart Eagle!

The only irritant is adds pop up here and there...yes, very frustrating indeed!
But well worth it.

Here is another site that shows past important events in the nest.

Yes that's food for the babies along the bottom of the photo.
Along with fish, their parents bring other meats.

Soo cool to watch these live cams!

Simply Amazing! Great Blue Heron LIVE Nest Cam

Received this and just had to share!!

From:

For the fourth year, Great Blue Herons have claimed the nest in a huge dead tree in Sapsucker Woods Pond

Cornell Lab eNews Flash

Great Blue Herons Join Our LIVE Nest Cam Roster

The Great Blue Herons have nested in this massvie white oak snag for the last four years. We can see the nest from our staff lounge, and in years past we've enjoyed guessing when the eggs would hatch, watching for the day the chicks' little beaks first appear over the nest rim, and following them as they grow to four-foot tall adolescents. This year you'll be able to watch their progress from virtually inside the nest.

The herons returned to the nest in mid-March and soon began courting: bringing twigs, standing side by side in the nest, clattering their bills, and nipping at each other. To get good views of these large birds, we've installed two cameras that stream simultaneously ,one from above the nest and the other at nest level. The lower camera can record even in dark conditions and streams all night long.

Last night at around 7:30 p.m., the heron laid her first egg! Tune in to keep watching for the next eggs. Great Blue Herons typically lay eggs every two days, sometimes three, until the clutch is complete. After that it will be 25–30 days before the chicks hatch, and they will spend another 7–8 weeks in the nest before they fledge. We hope you'll join us as we watch this all unfold!

The site will be live 24 hours a day and the upper camera's video can be streamed in HD. You can also watch on mobile devices such as smartphones and iPads. A full-featured BirdCams site will launch in late April with more birds.

We've enjoyed having these herons outside our windows in years past, and we hope you enjoy them too!

Bikes in the Garden "Pinned"

I'm joining Courtney and Kimberly for their "Pinning Party" .

Come join!

With Spring just about here my mind has turned toward the garden.
Something I have always wanted to do is to plant an old bike in the front garden.
When my neighbors moved they left an old bike behind Yippeeee!
I hit Pinterest for some inspiration.

I have always thought I would paint it all white
like this one.

But after seeing these I'm not so sure.

So what do you think?
White or color?

ECS Craft Party!

I'm joining:

Etsy Cottage Style for the Cottage Craft Room Party!

Let's see, what's been going on in my craft room....

I've made some vintage sheet music Easter Eggs

another Baby Shoe Nest
(these are so fun to make)

I've had this tin for quite a while and wasn't sure what to do with it.
Then I came across a bunch of broken vintage jewelry
(while trying to find something else)
and an idea was born.
It was fun to adhere all the different pieces on a puzzle like form.
Once done I sprayed the whole thing gold.
I would have preferred silver but I didn't have any, so gold it was.
Cute little trinket/whatever tin :)

I've also made some hair pins for Spring.
These with vintage buttons....

this one with ribbon and ribbon roses.

I had the best time creating this next piece.
I took a long strong string and added whatever
odds and ends were leftover from other projects.
No rhyme or reason.
Pieces of ribbon, lace, string, yarn,
odd silk flowers, vintage keys, old charms,
chains, beads, vintage buttons...whatever was leftover.
Instead of putting it back I added it to this garland.
Just plain FUN!

My Favorite Animal

Our teacher asked what my favorite animal was, and I said, "Fried chicken."

She said I wasn't funny, but she couldn't have been right, because everyone else laughed.

My parents told me to always tell the truth. I did. Fried chicken is my favorite animal.

I told my dad what happened, and he said my teacher was probably a member of PETA. He said they love animals very much. I do, too. Especially chicken, pork and beef. Anyway, my teacher sent me to the principal's office. I told him what happened, and he laughed, too. Then he told me not to do it again.

The next day in class my teacher asked me what my favorite live animal was. I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, so I told her it was because you could make them into fried chicken.

She sent me back to the principal's office. He laughed, and told me not to do it again.

I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest, but my teacher doesn't like it when I am.

Today, my teacher asked us to tell her what famous person we admire most. I told her, "Colonel Sanders."

Guess where I am . . .

What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger

Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)

You know the bed feels warmer
Sleeping here alone
You know I dream in colour
And do the things I want

You think you got the best of me
Think you had the last laugh
Bet you think that everything good is gone
Think you left me broken down
Think that I'd come running back
Baby you don't know me, cause you're dead wrong

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone
What doesn't kill you makes a fighter
Footsteps even lighter
Doesn't mean I'm over cause you're gone

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stronger
Just me, myself and I
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone

You heard that I was starting over with someone new
They told you I was moving on over you

You didn't think that I'd come back
I'd come back swinging
You tried to break me, but you see

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone
What doesn't kill you makes a fighter
Footsteps even lighter
Doesn't mean I'm over cause you're gone

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stronger
Just me, myself and I
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone

Thanks to you I got a new thing started
Thanks to you I'm not the broken hearted
Thanks to you I'm finally thinking bout me
You know in the end the day you left was just my beginning
In the end...

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone
What doesn't kill you makes a fighter
Footsteps even lighter
Doesn't mean I'm over cause you're gone

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stronger
Just me, myself and I
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone

Time for Pinning ♥

I'm joining Courtney and Kimberly

for their "Pinning Party" .
Come join!

Realizing that Easter was closer than I thought,
my mind turned to little remembrance gifts I could make for loved ones.
But along the way, as you will see, I got a little sidetracked
and veered toward decorations.
oops ;)

These would make for a cheerful little gift.
Love the fabric they've chosen, it's perfect

Every time I see this I have to laugh.
It's so darn cute and clever!
My fave BTW ♥♥

These little basket bowls would be so simple to make.
Great way to recycle paper too.

Wouldn't these be cute for place tags?
then each person could take their's home.

OMG!! Who of us dosen't have a ton of paint chip cards?
I know I do. This banner looks so Eastery in all the Springtime colors.
Another way to recycle too.

We can't forget the Easter Bunny in all of this!
Isn't she a doll!
